Each academic year the English department runs several theatre trips which allow students from all years to experience live theatre. Some trips will be to productions of texts being studied in class, whilst others may simply be to significant, quality productions.
During the 2010 / 2011 academic year, the English Department ran trips to see ‘Warhorse’ in the West End, ‘Julius Caesar’ at the Camden Roundhouse, ‘Dr Faustus’ in the basement of Blackwells book shop in Oxford and ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ at Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre.
In addition to external theatre trips, we are investing in new state of the art theatre facilities here at King Edward’s, known as the DAC project:
