Creative Arts

At King Edward’s we provide students with an atmosphere in which creativity will flourish.  A wealth of opportunities in which to explore and develop creative interests enables pupils to pursue music, drama and artistic expression beyond their academic studies.

Beautiful, naturally-lit art studios, a state of the art theatre, and purpose-build music rooms provide the exceptional facilities, which underpin students’ pursuit of excellence in their own creativity.

King Edward’s provides an open, exciting and challenging environment for all students to develop as musicians and performers. Standards are high and large numbers of students participate in a diverse and vibrant programme of musical activities.  There is something to suit all musical tastes from the Symphony Orchestra and SATB Choir to the Big Band, Sax Quartet and Guitar Ensemble. There are many opportunities for students to perform in concerts at school and in the wider community and there are regular trips abroad.

For those who prefer to work behind the scenes, the school productions offer ample opportunity to get involved with set and costume design, lighting and sound engineering.

Our annual Spring Concert showcases a range of musical genre, all performed to an incredibly high standard.  You can watch some of the highlights on our vimeo channel, featuring the 2019 concert.
