At King Edward VI School we are proud of the wide range of safety measures we have put in place to enable our pupils to return to school and to access the superb academic and co-curricular opportunities which are so important to a KES education. We have ensured at every stage of the pandemic that we have fulfilled and exceeded government directives. However, it is sadly inevitable that regardless of these rigorous measures, there can still arise small numbers of cases within any community.

We can confirm that we have this week had a positive case of Covid identified by Public Health England (PHE). On the advice of PHE the close contacts of the student have been informed to self-isolate for the appropriate period of time. We are supporting the pupil’s family and we are in regular communication as required with the authorities. All pupils self-isolating for Covid reasons during term time will continue to have remote access to the teaching in their lessons.

Members of our school community can be reassured that we will continue to follow the official protocols to the letter, and will keep them fully informed of all developments.
