Safer Internet Week at King Edward’s
Digital Safety is widely supported and championed at King Edward VI School. The student-led e-safety team frequently produce materials, talks and videos for the wider school, to help students understand the importance of digital resilience. This year, to support National Safer Internet Day, King Edward’s launched a week-long digital safety campaign.
Students were involved in activities during Tutor Group and Group Base. The Lower School did quizzes, looking at different online scenarios followed by a Q&A with their Tutor. And Upper School watched the making of the Channel 4 Queen’s Speech video followed by a discussion on Fake News.
Parents too were involved, through a Digital Safety Parents’ Talk, open to both KES and Stroud parents. Lorin LaFave, founder of the The Breck Foundation, provided us with a moving and deeply thought-provoking talk on internet safety and digital resilience.
And on social media, we shared with our community helpful resources, links and guides.
All of the resources we have shared during the week, and more, can be accessed here.
