Outstanding Results for GCSE Students

After many last-minute changes to procedure, our GCSE students received some excellent results this morning.

We are delighted to report that nearly 80% of all entries were awarded A* and A grades (or the numerical equivalent) and 48% of pupils received A* and A grades in all of their subjects.

Mr Parker noted that he is ‘enormously proud of our Fifth Year students. This cohort has faced unprecedented challenges and difficulties, and have had to endure weeks of uncertainty as policy makers have made up, and then changed their minds about the process for awarding GCSE results. In the end, King Edward’s students can be rightfully proud of their achievements, which reflect their dedication and hard work over the entirety of the past two years. That the School has seen such excellent results, speaks volumes about the character of this year group and the professionalism of their teachers. They deserve our unreserved congratulations.’
