Maths Challenge results
The UKMT Intermediate Maths challenge was held recently and congratulations go to Yuqing Chen who was Best in School with a score of 104. This puts her in the top 500 candidates in the country and gained her entry into the Maclaurin Olympiad round. She did well in gaining a Merit on a very challenging paper aimed at elite mathematicians.
Other Fifth Year students to receive Gold Certificates are Cherida Zhang, Will Atherton, William Rose, Sarah Macleod and Arev Melikyan. They all gained entry into the Pink Kangaroo follow-on round and Cherida, Will, William and Sarah were all placed in the top 25% of this round to earn a Merit. In the Fourth Year, Benjy Graf, Joshua Lam, Ryan Scott and Daniel Erwig all gained Gold Certificates, with Benjy and Joshua also entering the Pink Kangaroo round where they also earned a Merit. In the Third Year, Charlie Smeeton, Joe Rachman, Anna Aksenova, Tasmiah Safat-e-Jannat, Michael Beck-Papageorgiou and Abigail McCarthy all earned Gold. Along with Ankit Nambiar (Silver) they entered the Grey Kangaroo round where Charlie, Abigail, Anna and Joe were all placed in the top 25% to earn a Merit.
