Dignioras and Dignissimas awarded

Congratulations to the following students who have been awarded dignioras and dignissimas.

Mhairi Carson is awarded a dignissima for Music.  She performed another impressive rendition of ‘The Last Post’ and ‘Reveille’ at yesterday’s Remembrance Service and has done so on many previous occasions.  She receives the award in recognition of her impressive musicianship over the past five years.

James McManus has received a digniora for History. He produced an impressive model of King Alfred’s Jewel, currently exhibited in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. The model can be viewed in the Crush Hall cabinet.

Suheera Ebrahim has been recommended for a digniora for Religious Studies. Mrs Searles notes: “Suheera’s account of the problem of evil and suffering gave a very impressive summary of the philosophical issues involved. Her responses reflected her very mature understanding and was at a level beyond GCSE. Suheera also gave an outstanding answer to an examination question on an extremely complex topic.”
