A visit to a Roman palace

Last week Second Year pupils travelled to Fishbourne Roman Palace. The October clement weather enabled students to explore the whole site, including the Roman gardens and herb plot.  A hands-on archaeology workshop was very engaging and the group were particularly lucky to be able to handle a very rare piece of decorated Samian pottery. They then researched their own projects on the palace, some of them choosing to film documentaries, which will be delivered in class.
