Greenpower team at International Kit Car Finals
The KES Greenpower team had a mixed day at the International Kit Car Finals this Saturday at Rockingham Speedway. The intermittent electric fault that cut short the Greenpower House Challenge last term unfortunately reoccured at the worst possible time – 10 minutes before the start of the race after the car had been running perfectly for an hour and a half practice session!
It is credit to the team that they kept calm and, after some quick trouble shooting, located the broken wire causing the problem and with a very hasty gaffa tape fix the car rolled out just in time to start the race from the back of the grid, unfortunately undoing all of their hard work in qualifying.
From that point, the team did exceptionally well to battle through the large field to a respectable 32nd place; a great result in the circumstances.
Mr Blow would like to say a big thank you to all the team but especially to those team members who stayed at school on Friday to talk about the club during Open Evening and then got up very early the following morning to catch the minibus to Rockingham.
