The lower sixth Foundation Studies program consists of a series of lessons designed to equip students with the key skills necessary for sixth form success and to help prepare them for life after school.
In 2016-17 the sessions include:
- Presentation Skills
- Exploring Health and Social Issues
- Finance and Budgeting
- Introduction to Politics
- IT & Study Skills
- Road Ready
- Applying to University
- Into Work
Each student is assigned a Lower Sixth Foundation Studies group (A - H) according to their tutor group:
A = S1 , S2 , S3 E = S13 , S14 , S15
B = S4 , S5 , S6 F = S16 , S17 , S19
C = S7 , S8 , S9 G = S18 , S20
D = S10 , S11 , S12 H = S21 , S22
Each FS group proceeds around the key skills carousel in a different order according to a chart given to students at the start of the year.
