Abigail McCarthy, Ankit Nambiar, Joshua Lam and Benji Graf competed in the regional final of the Second and Third Year Team Maths Challenge this month at Lord Wandsworth College. The team fought against strong competition to gain an excellent 7th place. Mukta Srinivasa Raghavan and Daniel Erwig also competed as part of the Stroud School team to gain a 5th place finish.
Fourth Year students have also been competing. Eight students attended the 'Maths Feast' (a team Maths competition) at Barton Peveril College last week. The afternoon consisted of a number of different rounds involving puzzles, problem solving and learning new Maths. The boys' team consisting of Adam Brodzki, Arev Melikyan, Jake Reilly and William Rose won the overall competition and the girls' team of Ottilie Beal, Yuqing Chen, Sarah Macleod and Kira Morton won a certificate for first place in one of the individual rounds. Both teams did very well, enjoying the challenge of the day and the chance to compete against teams from other schools.
