If you were asked 'Who are you'? - how would you answer this question?
How do you define your identity? Is it through your nationality; your family; your name; your culture; what you look like; what you dislike? Probably all of these things!
In this module, we will be looking at the world around us, and we will be thinking about different countries and their cultures? Why do people speak, behave, dress and think differently? Above all, can we learn anything from other cultures?
Module 1 : an introduction to Europe. We are looking at our geographical knowledge as well as the role of Europe in our lives.
Module 2 : Foreign Cultures. Why is it so important to know about
different cultures? Can we avoid stereotypes? We will find out what you
can do and can’t do in different places of the world.
Module 3 : Art and Cultures. We are going make paintings based on one by
Magritte and try to represent a foreign nationality or why not the
British nationality.
Module 4 : Cooking and games. We will make an apple tart following a French/German/Spanish recipe and then we will play different games that children play around the world.
