King Edward VI School's Summer Camp is a well-established charitable organisation run by 16 Upper and Lower Sixth students. Summer Camp is now in collaboration with the international charity 'Young Carers', based in Southampton. The charity recognises the importance of children having the opportunity to be children.
The Charity is run from Southampton Voluntary Services
Each Summer we take a group of 12 young carers, aged between 8 and 12, on a week long activity-packed holiday in Swanage. The person they care for may have a physical or learning disability, mental ill health or have difficulties with drug/alcohol use.
Summer Camp offers them the chance to enjoy new experiences with the full attention of the dedicated Sixth Form team as well as letting their guard down. The main priority of Summer Camp is to have fun. Pure and simple.
